The short version

What you record stays on your phone. It is never uploaded.
One thing leaves, and only if you subscribe: your email address.
No adverts, no analytics, no tracking, no third parties. None of it, anywhere.
Ask and your address is deleted. There is nothing else to delete.

What stays on your phone

Everything a Howarth Games app records is kept in its own storage on your device and is never uploaded: your dogs and horses and their records, your walks and rides and the routes they took, your recordings, your timetable, your photographs and your notes. Deleting the app deletes all of it. We have no copy and no way to obtain one, which also means we cannot recover it for you.

Your email address, and the only thing it is for

A subscription has to be allocated to something, so if you take one out you are asked for an email address and it is sent to our own server. It is the only personal information that ever leaves the app. Subscription purposes, and nothing else — that is not a summary of a longer list, it is the whole list:

Used only to allocate and maintain your subscription, and to reply to you about it.
Never used for tracking. Not joined to data from any other company. There is no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting code in the app, and no advertising identifier is read — so you will never see the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Not linked to anything you record. None of it reaches us, so there is nothing on our side to tie an address to. It identifies a subscription, not what you did with the app.
No profile is built from it. Never used for marketing. Never sold, rented or passed on — there is no third party in the arrangement to pass it to.
Stored on our own server, and deleted whenever you ask.

Giving it is a choice, not a condition of use. Decline and the parts that need a subscription may not be available; everything else carries on, and nothing on the device is lost either way. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card details, billing address or Apple Account.

What the phone is asked for, and why

These are the permissions any of this software may ask for. Each is requested at the moment the feature that needs it is first used, so which prompts you actually see depends on the app and on what you do with it.

Location — to follow a route while you are walking or riding it, and to work out where you are when you ask. The route is drawn and stored on the phone.
Camera and photo library — to take or attach a photograph, and to save one out if you choose to.
Microphone — to record audio, or to dictate a note. Recordings stay on the device.

Refusing one costs you that feature and nothing else, and you can change your mind at any time in the iPhone’s own Settings. Nothing here asks for your contacts, calendar, reminders, health data, Bluetooth or the local network. Nothing captured through any of these permissions is ever uploaded — not a location, not a photograph, not a recording.

A few things worth saying about particular apps

Peaks and Paths works out your British National Grid reference on the phone, with no network call — your position is not sent anywhere to convert it. The people named on your safety screen are stored on the device only: the app can dial a number you entered, but it notifies nobody automatically and has no connection to the emergency services or mountain rescue.
Physio Student and Kinesiology store what you write in a database encrypted at rest. Please set a PIN — these can hold notes about patients, and a student’s phone gets handed round a ward office.
Clinical notes you record about a patient may make you a data controller in your own right. Your university’s and your placement provider’s policies, not this notice, govern what you may record about somebody in your care.

No analytics, no adverts, no third parties

There is no analytics on the website or in the app — not Google’s, not anybody’s. Nothing counts which pages you visit, which screens you open, how long you stay or roughly where you are. The cost of that is worth stating: we do not know how many people use any of this, or which features matter. We would rather not know than have you measured for it.

There are no adverts, no advertising network, no crash reporter, no social media integration and no third-party sign-in. The only other party involved at all is Apple, who take the payment for a subscription and tell the app whether one is active.

First aid and reference information

The first aid libraries in these apps are reference, not advice, and not a substitute for calling 999 or a vet. Physio Student and Kinesiology are study aids and not clinical tools — neither is a medical device, neither diagnoses anything, and neither replaces your university’s teaching, your practice educator or your own judgement. Nothing in either should be used to decide a real patient’s care.

The website

This website sets no cookies at all and collects nothing. You are not asked to create an account, and no name, address, phone number, payment detail or message is stored.

How long it is kept, and your rights

Your email address is kept for as long as it is needed to run your subscription, and removed whenever you ask.

You may ask what we hold — it is an email address — and ask for it to be corrected or deleted at any time. If you have not subscribed we hold nothing about you at all. Everything on your phone is kept until you delete it or the app.

Children

Nothing here knowingly collects information from children. A subscription is bought through an Apple Account, and a subscriber’s email address is the only thing collected, so there is nothing else it could be.

Changes to this notice

If what the app does with your information changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top will say when. If a future version ever describes collecting more than the email address above, it will say so plainly rather than quietly.
